JLS : JODIO LOCO SUCIO

This is how JLS' bio appears in Wikipedia and Last.FM as there is also a group named Jack the Lad Swing that uses the acronym.

JLS ( Jodio Loco Sucio ) is a power trio originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and founded by Leo Susana. They have released 3 albums of hard rock / metal all with different line-ups.The first album, Testigos de la Historia was recorded in Midilab Studios ( famous for it’s use by major latin artists of all genres ) and released in 1997. It contains the now classic cuts in the dominican rock scene “Enemigo de la Sociedad”, “Patra”, “Dame tu Sexo”, “Me da la gana”. The line-up then was Leo Susana, guitars and vocals, Miguel Gomez, bass and Luinis Quezada on Drums.

For 2001’s Serpiente en el Huerto, recorded in Big House Studios in NYC, Guy Frometa and Peter Nova provided the rhythm section. Both accomplished musicians in their own right, Guy Frometa is one of the most in-demand drummers in the Dominican Republic for tours and recordings, and Peter Nova is a producer/arranger/session player as well as a touring musician with many major label acts. Serpiente en el Huerto contains tracks like “Diputado Man”, “Privilegio es vivir ( en una Democrac.i.a.), “El Rey del Mosh”, amongst others.

In 2003 Luinis Quezada returned to the fold to record Un Año de Odio, Un Siglo de Miedo, the heaviest album by JLS, full of menacing riffs and pounding, violent drumming. Highlights include the tracks “Ah, Los Dictadores”, “Frio Metal”, “Pedazo de Mierda”. Gigi Cano, a NYC drummer with many hardcore bands and current JLS drummer, also recorded drums for the album on tracks “Creator”, “Speak Softly, Carry Big Stick”, “Sharon” and “Vete”. Guy Frometa and Peter Nova recorded one track, “Maco Jones”.

JLS current line - up, based in Zaragoza, Spain is Leo Susana (guitars, vocals ) , Gigi Cano (drums) and Marce Marco (bass)
