Grabando Serpiente en el Huerto - Big House Studios NYC 1999

En 1999 entramos a los Estudios Big House en la ciudad de Nueva York, ubicado en la novena planta de un edificion en la calle 42 entre las 6ta y 7ma avenida, vamos, Times Square para los fines. Fue una buena experiencia, un estudio grande con muchos amplificadores, muchas guitarras, una buena mesa, techos altos, de esos estudios de antes que ya no son rentables. Grabamos  Serpiente en el Huerto a cinta de 2" y mezclamos a cinta tambien pero al final para la masterizacion se usaron los DATs de seguridad por un problema de fase en las cintas de mezclas. 

Aqui en la foto estoy con Zoe una australiana que estaba de becaria en el estudio, y la gorra que se ve al fondo izquierda esta sobre la cabeza de Bill Emmons quien fue el que grabo y mezclo, con asistencia de varios becarios en el estudio.

1999 we went into Big House Studio on 42nd st. btween 6th and 7th ave ( basically, Times Square) to record Serpiente en el Huerto, 2nd album for my band, JLS.

It was a cool experience. Big House was one of those old studios with a huge tracking room, lots of amps, Hammond with a Leslie, Grand Piano, guitars, great mixing desk, lots of outboard gear, Studer tape machines, etc

We recorded Serpiente totally analog and mixed to DAT and reels. Good thing too. At the time of mastering there was a phase problem with the tapes so we had to rely on those safety DATs.

In this picture I'm with Zoe, studio intern from Australia. The hat in the bottom left hand corner belongs to the head of Bill Emmons who recorded and mixed the album with assistance of various interns in the studio.
